Abstract:
Elbow joint is one joint consisting of three bones, three ligaments and two joints in one capsule. One of the diseases that can occur in the elbow joint is fracture, fracture treatment that can be done is the action of ORIF (Open Reduction Internal Fixation). One to see internal fixation is to do an X-ray elbow joint. The projection used Antero Posterior (AP) and Lateral x-rays perpendicular to the cassette. But there was a radiographer's efforts at the Radiology Installation of Arifin Achmad Hospital in Riau Province using AP projections of the direction of the extension x-ray. The purpose of this research is to find out the efforts of radiographers in enforcing the diagnosis of fracture post ORIF at Arifin Achmad Hospital Installation in Riau Province.
This research is a type of descriptive skinative research through field observation, interviews, documentation and literature studies. The research was conducted at the Radiology Installation of Arifin Achmad Hospital in Riau Province from April-June 2021. X-rays of elbow joints do not require special preparation during examination, only releasing foreign objects that can interfere with the radiograph image.
Elbow joint X-ray examination technique on post ORIF fracture diagnosis uses AP and Lateral projections, but on AP projection using x-ray extension as much as 5 degrees (caudal) to the object. This is for elbow joint post ORIF examination to get optimal results. If normal patients are not recommended.
